Miracle Festival
Miracles happen every day. God is working and New Life International is helping to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with Muslims and other non-believers throughout the world.
How can Muslims become Christians in a nation where it is illegal to convert? It all begins with a massive festival full of miraculous healings and a celebration of Christ’s joy. Many Muslims would never darken the doorway of a church. However, they are open to attending an outdoor festival, especially when they hear that Jesus is working miracles for the sick.
At one recent festival thousands of Muslims were in attendance each night. Virtually every person present responded to the Gospel message and prayed the prayer of salvation.
After the excitement of the festival, the real work of healing began. Trained counselors spread throughout the crowd praying individually with each person, giving them a book about Jesus, and prompting them to make a life-changing decision for Christ. As people left the festival grounds, the “decision cards” were collected at the exits. By the end of the five-night festival, the decision cards numbered 11,012!
The following week, every person that handed in a card began receiving Bible correspondence courses. This correspondence training was sent to them through the mail in nondescript envelopes so that none of their Muslim neighbors would suspect they were receiving Gospel material. After several correspondence lessons were completed and mailed back, a believer from a local church hand-delivered a beautifully bound copy of the Bible. The believer from the local church stayed for tea and answered questions about the Bible. Afterward, since it is forbidden in the Muslim culture to step foot inside a church, the family was invited to the believer’s house for tea. During this “tea party” many Muslims came where they sing songs about Jesus, prayer was offered for the sick and the head of the household shared some stories from the Bible. A house church was born.
